Who Am I? Plain and simple,
I'm a Mother and Grandmother who's been cooking
for at least 50 years. And we had a big family -- eight
kids and usually
at least one other family for Sunday dinner.
With that many people you either have to be wealthy to
afford the groceries
(we weren't) or you learn to cook economically. Meatloaf
was something that
helped stretch the hamburger to feed a small army.
After we climbed up into the middle-class we still had
meatloaf -- but
didn't necessarily settle for the "standard"
meatloaf we had in the
early years. I've collected some really wild (and tasty!)
meatloaf recipes
over the years.
My family is all grown and live scattered from coast to
coast, although I'm
lucky enough to have most of them up here in Alaska with
me. I live in a white
frame house on the banks of Cottonwood Creek, and yes,
it's as picturesque
as it sounds -- maybe even more.
What About That Guy? The man behind managing
this website and my mailing list is my son, Jay. He does
internet programming as his career (although he keeps
making noises about giving it up and becoming a magician)
and so put this website together for me. |
